The SIGMET/AIRMETs Page contains multiple options for displaying currently valid
SIGMET/AIRMET data.
- To display the latest SIGMET/AIRMET graphical plot or text for predefined
regions:
- Select either "Plot" or "Text"
- Click on one of the areas in the world map of current SIGMET/AIRMETs
This will display the latest SIGMET/AIRMET plot or list the currently
valid SIGMET/AIRMETs for the region you selected.
Note that the graphical representation
of SIGMET/AIRMETs uses a specific format.
- To display current valid SIGMET/AIRMET text for a specific FIR.
Use the "Retrieve all text SIGMETs/AIRMETs for issuing FIR" FORM.
- Enter the 4-letter ICAO Location Indicator for FIR in which you are interested. You may enter multiple FIRs by separating them with commas; for example: RCAA, WSJC. You can see the FIR Location indicator in the SIGMET/AIRMET graphical plots under the icons for the SIGMET/AIRMET, e.g., WSJC:4 would be FIR WSJC and ID 4.
- Click "Submit Request".
This should display the list of currently valid SIGMET/AIRMETs for the FIR you have chosen.
- To display current valid SIGMET/AIRMET text for a specific weather
type.
Use the "Retrieve SIGMET/AIRMET text for weather type" FORM.
- Select a weather type from the menu.
- Click "Submit Request".
This should display the list of currently valid SIGMET/AIRMETs for
the weather type chosen to appear on your screen. Note that SIGMETs
and AIRMETs don't share all weather types (e.g., there are no Volcanic
Ash AIRMETs).
- To display current valid SIGMET/AIRMET text for a rectangular lat,lon
region.
Use the "Retrieve SIGMET/AIRMET text for rectangular area" FORM.
- Enter the top and bottom latitude and right and left longitude
for the area you wish to display. For example, for the AOAWS Domain
1 region you would enter:
- Top Lat: 58
- Bottom Lat: -8
- Left Lon: 84
- Right Lon: 158
- Click "Submit Request".
This should display the list of currently valid SIGMET/AIRMETs for
the area you specified to appear on your screen.
